FIENDISH PODCAST 2 RECORDED!

Me and Lou have recorded the Fiend's second podcast. It's a 2011 preview and commentary on the movie They Live and the new book by Jonathon Lethem on the film. Editing and such will happen this weekend, so look for it's debut either then or early next week!

SITE CHANGES

Heya folks, just wanted alert you on a couple of site changes.

1. We will now be toggling the latest Podcast and Poll as the first two items on the sidebar. So now you can press play and listen to Fiendish Podcasts or vote on the latest Fiendish Poll at the very top of the site. Whichever is fresher will be on top.

2. With the addition of the Podcast to the nav bar, we've decided to simplify the labels to the sections. This probably makes it easier to find our main sections for casual visitors. The full labels can still be found down on the sidebar in a full index called Fiendish Innards.

3. We've cut down the posts on the main page to 50, so loading should be a lot easier!

4. Also, to help with your searches we've added a monthly Archive Fiend, which can be found under Fiendish Innards. The more ways to search the better!

That's about it for now. Please feel free to offer up any suggestions through comments or our email at flixfiend@gmail.com. Thanks!

FIENDISH PODCAST NOW ON iTUNES!

This is the big one, folks! We've been approved by iTunes, so our Fiendish Podcast is now available to to listen, subscribe, and download through iTunes! Here's a link, but feel free to search it through iTunes. We're very excited about this, so we hope you'll give it a listen, a rating, and hopefully a subscription. Thanks a lot, folks!

FIENDISH PODCAST ON BUZZSPROUT!

As you may have noticed our podcast is being hosted off site at the podcast center known as Buzzsprout. Here's the link to our page there which is a good spot to grab the 'cast's RSS feed. Thanks for listening!

FIENDISH MESSAGE: PODCAST #1 RECORDED!

I'm proud to announce that the first Flix Fiend Podcast has finally been recorded! Me and Lou sat down and rocked it out last night. Our first topic: a Year (+) in Review. It was our first time ever doing something like this, so it started a little shaky, but we settled in and it sounded OK by the end. Unfortunately, we hit a little snag and two minutes will have to be cut from it, but otherwise it went off decently. So, look for the first Fiendish Podcast to hit sometime this week!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

Flix Fiend turns ONE today! I'd like to take this moment to say thank you to Lou, Steve, Ant, and Joe for their contributions to the website as well as to all of our artistic friends for their pieces, and give an even bigger thank you to YOU, the visitor, for checking us out. Whether you read one of our reviews or features, or just checked out the trailers and posters we're into, we've appreciated the click. This has been a labor of love, and we hope that you'll continue to visit as we try to grow in year two.

One way we plan to do that is with a podcast. I had hoped to launch it by today, but the best laid plans sometimes don't always work out. My microphone is on order, though, so we hope to launch soon! With that, plus interviews and various festival coverage, as well as more of the features we've built this first year on, we hope to continuously entertain and inform you.

And if you haven't checked out the blog yet, please take a moment to do so. There are many posts we are proud of including our two retrospectives, our Predators review, the Natasha Kermani interview, and more. The blog is 100% updated as well, meaning any lingering reviews that we may've started are now finished and posted. I'm happy to say that there is content for all 365 days of our existence! So please give a click to the DVD or Feature Fiend sections for any reviews you may have missed including Shutter Island, Hot Tub Time Machine, The Book of Eli, Daybreakers, and more!

So thanks again, folks! And we encourage any feedback or criticisms in the comments section or email to Flixfiend@gmail.com. We'd love to hear your thoughts!

Now for some birthday cake...

FIENDISH MESSAGES: FIENDISH POLLS

We started it last week with our Sam Raimi poll, but I wanted to make an official announcement about it. We're going to experiment with a weekly poll from here on out and see if you guys like it. We may expand the time length depending on the amount of results we get. And the final results of each poll will be posted towards the bottom of the side bar.

Last week's result for favorite Sam Raimi movie was a tie between Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. And this week's poll is in honor of Ridley Scott's latest film release, the train action thriller Unstoppable! To the ballots!

FIENDISH MESSAGES: RESOURCE LINKS

I've just added a links listing that represents both our favorite websites and some of the places where we find the coolest trailer, posters, and news. Just want to give thanks and praise to these sites and the fabulous work they are doing.

FIENDISH MESSAGES: FOLLOW/FACEBOOK US!

We finally put in a Follow us section here on the blog. This allows you to get word of every post we put up. So get your trailers, reviews, and more as soon as we get 'em up!

Also, while we started a Facebook page awhile ago, we're finally getting into it a bit more, so become a Fan of the Fiend and jibber jabber with us!

We're giving it a good go to follow up our cool first year with a bigger, more awesome year two. Hope you can join us!

FIENDISH MESSAGES: PODCAST FIEND COMING SOON

Or will it be Fiendish Podcast? Haven't decided yet, but as our new header (which is also our brand-spanking new postcard) suggests we will soon be recording our first podcast! We thought a podcast would perfectly compliment the website. We're hoping to get our first podcast done for our first anniversary coming up in early November. What will it entail? Conversations on what we are watching, news, smaller retros on film series, and general shenanigans. Look for more news soon!

FLIX FIEND ON FACEBOOK!

Well it was only a matter of time before Flix Fiend got a Facebook page. So if you've enjoyed the Fiend thus far, please become a fan at FB and you'll be linked up every time we post here. Thanks for your support!

We just wanted to wish all of you a Happy New Year, and thank everyone for reading Flix Fiend in these first couple of months. We hope you've enjoyed our content thus far, and will keep returning to our little corner of the vast universe of movies. We're striving to make this a worthwhile daily stop for you during your Internet travels. We have some cool ideas percolating, and hope to get them going soon.
