DVD FIEND: AWAY WE GO

I'll keep this one rather short, as it's been a few weeks now, but I couldn't get around to it.

This is a nice little indie comedy about finding the perfect place to raise a kid. It's pretty funny with John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph as the awaiting parents, who travel the US and Canada visiting friends and relatives in their quest. The duo has an uncanny chemistry, that is sweet and fairly realistic. I think this is what makes the movie so funny, and rather poignant. Rudolph was especially good coming from SNL to a leading role, and playing it very convincingly. Krasinski is darn good as well as the aloof boyfriend that loves his girlfriend unconditionally. Much of the drama comes from Rudolph not actually wanting to marry Krasinski, but proclaims her commitment none-the-less. The supporting cast is rather good, with all of the performers making their roles memorable. And the ending works very well, tying up everything with a nice bow. Sam Mendes, who's had a nice string of movies, did very well in bringing this all together. It's a very good movie, that I will easily recommend to you. Enjoy!
