THIS WEEK'S NETFLIX RELEASES (BITCH SLAPPED EDITION!)

This will be quite the interesting week as some fun looking DVDs are dropping!

First and foremost, a movie I had the honor to go to the premiere of back in January, Bitch Slap, is coming out in awesome Unratedness! I am sooo looking forward to seeing this movie again. If you didn't read my review, go do that now. Done? Good, then I don't need to say much else about it, so juts shush up and put it on you queue. (be forewarned, though, check your high and holy self at the door and just let yourself enjoy what it is!)

Next, a movie I probably won't see, but I'm sure most will, 2012. It's a big special effects piece about the end of the world by Roland Emmerich. Because that's what he does. I guess a "end-times trilogy" pack with this, The Day After Tomorrow, and Independence Day, should be forthcoming. If not, that's just silly. Dual reason for me not seeing it: A. I'm pretty tired of Mr. Emmerich, and B. I'm trying not to think about this whole Mayan Calender business. Now, who's silly, huh?

A movie I am looking forward to watching is Hayao Miyazaki's latest, Ponyo. His animated movies are all classics, and I've loved them all. It's such a treat to gaze upon these works of art. If you haven't seen or loved his movies, there must be something wrong with you. Get on that!

When you're done with those, you can watch a straight to DVD action flick called Ninja. I've actually read alot of advance reviews saying that this is a far superior action movie to the big screen Ninja Assassin movie. I used to love ninja movies as a kid, so these two flicks have got my interest.

Here's a miniseries collection that I missed the boat on. Nick Welling's Alice, another take on Alice in Wonderland. This one is supposedly a lot like Welling's Tin Man, which I thought was pretty good. It's also his second AiW movie, weird.

Also, Flight of the Conchords' Jemaine Clement stars in a quirky comedy called Gentlemen Broncos from the director of Napolean Dynamite and Nacho, Libre Jared Hess. Could go either way here.

And finally, the release of an old TV movie that I've wanted to see for a looong time! John Carpenter's Elvis! Starring Kurt Russell as the man himself! I'm all shook up!

And that's about it, at least the ones worth mentioning. For the full list, click here. Happy renting! RENT BITCH SLAP!!!
